An exclusive festival appearance from American Celtic band Solas delivered more than promised on Sunday with some delicate vocals and uplifting melodies.

The high quality deliveries kept on coming.

Stunningly innovative roots guitarist Newton Faulkner proved a sensation with his throaty voice and unique slap guitar. He’s very deserving of the attention he’s currently getting.

The show continued with Malian kora player Toumani Diabate and the fevered performance of his Symmetric Orchestra.

For me, they concluded the festival and in great style too.

So how did this year compare to previous? Maybe not the strongest line-up ever, definitely not the best weather but somehow none of that mattered.

Cambridge has a unique atmosphere which is the thing that truly give this festival standout amongst an ever increasing choice of events, if it ever loses that it will certainly lose its way.
