Rosie Doonan & Ben Murray

When the Sweet Nothings were asked to provide some backing vocals for a Tarras album, it brought back together two musicians with music in their blood, Rosie Doonan and Ben Murray.
Rosie & Ben had kicked around occasionally as children. Ben’s Dad had played in, amongst others, The Doonan Family Band and well Rosie’s dad was Mick Doonan.
Musically they had gone their separate ways. Rosie had spent some time in The Solictors, a soul band, whereas Ben had formed Tarras with another childhood friend Joss Clapp.
It was the second Tarras album, “Walking Down Mainstreet” that reunited the pair and they haven’t really looked back since.
The duo have already released they highly acclaimed debut and can be found touring far and wide now. The album draws much from each side of the partnership, there’s an underlying soul vibe that creeps into the harmonies against a distinctive folk undercurrent.
We’re hoping to catch them before Cambridge, but they’ve caught enough of our interest to add to the must see list. (Yes I know our record of actually getting to must see gigs is not good, but we will be trying)
