As well as spending her time writing enchanting folk-pop songs and touring throughout Europe, Roxanne de Bastion has been channelling her bubbly personality and genuine affection for her fellow musician to bring top musical professionals and artists together for her annual From Me to You conferences. The conference took place at the Strongroom Studios in the heart of East London and was a resounding success, featuring an eclectic and impressive range of guest speakers.
The day consisted of two panel debates, one about the ins and outs of music licensing, the other a candid debate around the relevance of record labels in today's music industry, as well as four musical keynotes, in which full-time, independent musicians shared advice and experiences with the FM2U attendees.
With the warmest of atmospheres, perhaps the biggest tribute to Roxanne's ability to infect a room with her charming grace, the event was as entertaining as it was educative; to any aspiring musicians with unanswered questions, I urge you to attend the next FM2U. With the knowledge you'll pick up will serve as a handy flashlight in an all-too-often foggy industry.
