In these days of the online connected world where anyone can hear anything anytime they like, it's increasingly difficult to get heard at all. Even the highly talented and original find it difficult to reach a wider audience, because that audience have so many places they can be. By hook or by crook; or even through luck it's all about finding that something different.
Daria Kulesh is an artist I first bumped into, almost literally when I was putting up Fatea banners at a festival. From there a cd was pressed into my hands and subsequently reviewed. Later on Daria's most recent album, "Eternal Child" dropped through the office letterbox, to receive an excellent review, you really should check it out. By coincidence, "Eternal Child" opens with "Fata Morgana", the entity, though in a different context this magazine is named after. Even better it's a beautiful song.
When I heard that Daria, was going to release a special video for that song, I was definitely excited. When I heard that is was going to be launched with a ghost tour, that came across to me as something highly original and definitely newsworthy.
Fate, is a tricky mistress and as events conspired, I never managed to make it to the Ghost Tour, but have managed to get hold of the image that inspired both song and event. More importantly, I've got access to the video that was recorded for the song, enjoy:
There are only so many hours in a day and only so many gigs we can get to. We'd really like to expand our national coverage of the live scene as it remains the life blood of music.
Are you able to help us and the artist you're seeing out by dropping us a review once you get back home, and maybe even a picture. If you are able to help, Mail Us your review and we'll get it up as quick as we can
The Fatea Showcase Sessions are a series of downloads featuring acts that we've really enjoyed and think that more people should get the chance to hear.
