Ruby Blue - Something's Gone Wrong
Just before the release of their major label debut, "Down From Above", Ruby Blue , were generous enough to donate a track for the first ever Fatea Magazine flexidisc*, "Easy".
To celebrate twenty one years since the release of "Down From Above", Ruby Blue's Roger Fife has remastered eleven songs from the three core Ruby Blue Albums, "Glances Askances", "Down From Above" and "Broken Water" into a best of album simply called "Ruby Blue Remasters".
Ahead of that release, Fatea Magazine has been given an exclusive single, "Something's Gone Wrong" to help promote the forthcoming album. Simply click on the sleeve above to get a high quality mp3 of the track complete with sleeve pack. In the current climate, the track seems to be as fresh today as when it was originally penned, testament to the skill of the song writer, as well as being a sad reflection on society.
"Ruby Blue Remasters" is being issued through Roger Fife's new digital music label, 26 Music and will be available through iTunes and on Amazon from February 21st. *For the benefit of our younger readers, back in the day when the record player was king, the flexidisc, was a paper thin piece of vinyl that was often given away with magazines and other things, such as breakfast cereal as a promotional item. They were so light that on some record players you had to weigh them down with a coin as the weight of the stylus would stop them going round.
The last flexidisc manufacturer closed production in 2000, but a new company, Pirates Press has recently resumed production .
