This is a superb album of blues of every shade from a great American guitarist who on this evidence is at the top of his game.

This is an energetic collection of songs that I have heard recently, recorded very live in Nashville, with telling contributions from ace guitarist Walter Trout (Highway Mama) and Jason Ricci's harmonica (Make Blues Not war and One More Train)

Plus there is the introduction of Zito's teenage son Zach featuring on guitar on the aptly titled Chip Off The Block.

The band is red hot on the opening track, Highway Mama, which sets the bar very high with its riff-laden steamy guitar feast with Walter Trout - it's great to hear him on such great form.

The tracks come thick and fast, Wasted Time and the Hendrix-flavoured Redbird, get the juices going with the band firing on all cylinders.

The up-tempo romp Crazy Legs features some showboating guitar that will have you smiling.

The title track slows down the pace a touch and gives you time to draw breath, as Jason Ricci blows up the proverbial storm.
