Hailing from Glasgow, James Edwyn and the Borrowed Band, formed in 2013 and released their debut album, The Tower, in 2014. Since then they have been working hard in the studio on their follow up album High Fences.

It was recorded over a period of 18 months between Gorbals Sound Studios and the band's own studio (I bet all bands wish they had that luxury!) With the help of Creative Scotland, the band were able to secure input from such names as engineer Jim Neilson (Glasvegas, Aidan Moffat) and Aria-nominated mix engineer Adrian Breakspear (Gang of Youths, The Kooks). Together, they have created an album which remains true to their earlier material, whilst showcasing a slightly harder edge to their sound. Guitar driven songs alongside intriguing lyrics, such as Passing San Ysidro, Pushing Statues, Quoting Sagan and Burning Man, make it clear that this is a band who are well worth a listen.
