Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters
Album: Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters
Label: Organic
Tracks: 13

This is the third album from the Honeycutters that I have reviewed but the first where Amanda Anne Platt has included her name as part of the band's and the album's title. Amanda is the lead singer and main songwriter for the band so it makes sense to make a feature of her name. She says that she is now comfortable enough to be in the spotlight although listening to the band's previous offerings, it was fairly obvious to me that it is Amanda's voice that made the band different in the competitive world of Nashville influenced music.

This new album, the band's fourth, is undoubtedly the best of the three that I have reviewed. The band seems to have found something of a new direction, not only with the name, but also with the production of their sound. Thoroughbred modern country!

If you are seeking a voice and a band that depicts what Country music is all about, then this lady and her band deliver it in spades. Musically superb and all wrapped up delightfully with a voice that drips emotion, heartache and one that will take you on a journey through love and life!

Amanda's songwriting is imaginative, heartrending and cutting. I am a self-confessed fan of Americana and Country so I do not need a reason to listen to this new album, but since the first listen I have found it hard to turn it off. It oozes class throughout. Excellent musicianship, great songwriting and, I believe, a voice to make you tingle.

In addition to Amanda, the band consists of Matt Smith, Rick Cooper, Josh Milligan and Evan Martin, all top class musicians. The band starts its first UK tour on the 4th August and will stay in the UK until the 20th of the month. The album itself will be released on the 4th August to coincide with the tour which has been part funded through a Crowd Funding type of scheme.

I have purchased tickets for one of the shows and will report back further then. I do however expect an evening of top class country music from a band that is just getting better and better.
