Raggalds Acoustic
Raggalds Acoustic is a new addition to the acoustic music scene in West Yorkshire. The Friday night concerts, which began in January this year, take place at the Raggalds Inn, Brighouse & Denholme Road near Queensbury just west of Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Joe Grint, who books the artists for Raggalds Acoustic says 'Our aim is to provide only the very best in acoustic music in a relaxed setting to kick off the weekend. The artists featured have been chosen because we know they can guarantee a great night's entertainment and bring something different to each gig. Artists featured so far have included Roger Davies, Duncan McFarlane, Gerry McNeice & Edwina Hayes. Over the next few weeks (late Feb/March) we are having visits from Weardale's answer to Show of Hands - Brother Crow, Bradford bluesman Gerry Cooper, female duo One Stone, folk/blues trio Amy Atkinson & Midnight Special and the amazing Hut People who will be performing the night before the Folk Day at Queensbury Music Festival. We're also having a Ceili night with Frigga. The atmosphere is really relaxing and informal and we are building a solid core of regulars with new visitors coming every week who promise to return.'
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of the Raggalds landlord Andy Davidson, the concerts are all free and start at 8.30pm. (There will be a £10 charge for the Ceili but that will include an Irish supper).
