I'm afraid I have to confess that I don't really like this. Lindsay Ullmann is perfectly good at what she does and the production and musicianship and song writing are all fine. The whole thing is professionally presented and won't have been cheap or quick, something you can't always say when stuff drops through your letter box for review. It's just that I find this sort of thing a bit old fashioned and not in a good way.

It's almost as if someone's mum decided to make a rock CD and got her suburban friend from the coffee morning, who's a car salesman by day, to help. I feel bad writing this and I know a lot of work has gone into this single and the whole package. And I also know that there's a ready market for this sort of thing in parts of the US for sure. I guess I just expect something less predictable and more authentic from a fellow Brit. That said 'No Good Perfection' grew on me after a couple of listens so maybe there's something more going on here that I'm able to appreciate.
