There's nothing like warmth infused break up is there? The gorgeous twosome that are Big Deal have delivered a new heartstring twanging tune entitled 'Distant Neighbourhood' and it's a treat to the eardrums.

Track number one on their album 'Lights Out', this track is jammed to the rafters with wants, needs and gut wrenching feelings. It might be knocking on for Christmas but you'll be hankering for those distant memories of chilled out summer days where the only thing that mattered was deciding on what to sup next.

Alice Costelloe is a mistress of angelic vocals; they drift around the bassier tones of her US counterpart Kacey Underwood like a bee to honey and 'Distant Neighbourhood' is nectar for the soul, capital N, capital S. The guitars are heavy yet light, a match for lyrics 'I can make you stay if you wanna be alone/now there's nothing left to do but watch you go'. The words are so sweet you'd be grateful to be on the receiving end of them they're that breezy.

'Distant Neighbourhood' is understated in that it's no frills; there's no flim-flam or dancing girls, it's just honest rawness that when it bites, leaves a mark forever. If this is the sound of a love breakdown then leave me on the hard shoulder, I've got Big Deal for company.
