Over the years, the team have given this festival glowing reports, so this year I was tempted into the 500 mile plus round trip to check it out.

The festival is in in 28th year and mixes local acts with more national ones plus morris, poetry, arts and crafts and festival activities such as face painting and for the first time this year, film

The festival is concentrated around the leisure centre and adjacent ground as well as pubs and other venues in the town. With lots of activity for children, it ticks the family friendly box. It also has a late night stage to provide enterainment for those unencumbered by children. As a general note, the food and drink were reasonably priced and the site was clean and well looked after.
