Sometimes when you're on life's highway you take a turn down a back road and discover a small secluded cove. It's got a beautiful beach, the sun is shining, the water is clear and blue it's a beautiful experience. You tell a few friends, they tell a few friends and before you know it the secret is well known and there's loads of people at your secluded cove.

BabaJack are that beautiful cove and gradually the whispered secret is rolling into a shout. More and more people are finding out about this great blues duo and more and more people need to find out about them. The great thing is that as this is music not a secluded beach everyone gets to have the intimate experience.

The West Country, well the northen end is rapidly becoming the English equivalent of the Mississippi Delta, there seems to be real acoustic blues scene developing down there and Becky Tate(mainly vocals) and Trevor Steger(mainly guitars and harmonicas), aka BabaJack have added a real twang into that sound.

"Exercising Demons" harks back to blues' early days and throws in a measure of skiffle for good measure. It punches like a bare-knuckle champion as it steps up to the mark for track after track. Each one a classic. The themes may be a bit familiar, love, religion, guns and trains, but the delivery is exceptional.

This is an album that you can easily listen to time and time again. Becky has a voice that was tailor made for the blues. It's smoky at the edges and sultry in the middle, it delivers a spiritual quality. It can move from a honky-tonk into a gospel choir.

There are certain bands you want to claim the credit for discovering, this is one of them, ok this is their second album, so that might not be totally credible. That said we did rave about "The Maker" their debut album as well.

Go out there, give this a listen, pass the news onto your friends, heck even take a discovery credit, but do it.
