Robb Johnsons 2007

2007....
my year: hmn, i've had better...although i'm very happy with the album "All That Way For This", it's not been a particularly creative year; for various reasons, i think that after a while, it becomes more difficult to write new songs (rather than re-write old ones), plus i've had to go back to the 5 day a week day job teechin. Boo.

music: hmn... pretty good, actually....i finally saw Iggy & The Stooges, & they were magnificent, & the new album, if no "Fun House", is still a welcome thundering racket.

I also saw Ian Hunter, reminding me how much i loved Mott the Hoople, & why. His album "Shrunken Heads" has my favourite song of 07 "When The World Was Round", just pipping Springsteen's "Radio Nowhere", perhaps because he disappointingly only played one gig at the Dome (!) which i couldn't afford to go to.

However i did see New Model Army, & they were awesome. & Sum 41 put out a great album "Underclass Hero", title track again possible favourite song of the year if i'd got to see them, but they cancelled their only London gig. & i saw Bruce Cockburn being superb from the front row at Lewes Guitar Festival, & it made me wonder why i bother!
