Eddie Barcan looks back at 2007

Highs of 2007:
Cambridge: the whicker man, the rain not ruining the Festival, brilliant appearances and album launches - The Bairns - Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, Prodigal Son - Martin Simpson, Awkward Annie - Kate Rusby, great sets from The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (Anarchy in the UK and the Cecil Sharpe references), Lau, Seasick Steve, booking Newton Faulkner a few weeks before his album went to No 1, our commission Under One Sky and learning that it is to come out as an album, cool as folk compilation, the popularity of folk music and all the new artists coming through, Amy Winehouse at Cambridge Corn Exchange and the classic Back to Black.

Lows of 2007:
More chairs and encampments of garden furniture in the arena at Cambridge - quite understand those that need a chair, but we simply don't have the space for everyone, the decline of the brilliant Amy Winehouse into tabloid farce.
