Andy Whittle continues onward
The Highs of my 2007 are as follows: I released my second album ' A Songmakers Tale' Which has outsold my first album by miles, and also got some really great reviews, including a 5/5! It also reached second in the EG Albums of 2007 (Folk),I was nominated for three Radio 2 Folk awards but unfortunately did not make it to the shortlist, but was chuffed to be considered. I was also runner up in The FATEA awards for best male vocalist.
I have toured the UK with Folkwit Records, played some really cool shows and met some really great people along the way. I am also 2/3 of the way through my 3rd album which has a much bigger sound and so far am very happy with it and looking forward to getting it released in 2008. I have been Collaborating with a friend and great songwriter/Performer Jez Hall and hope to put an EP out in the Near Future, I have also played piano in Jez's Band for a few gigs which was greatly enjoyable. I have also been collaborating with my friend Mark Roberts who is a awesome talent and we are planning to release something in 2008.
On a personal Note, i took part in a bone marrow transplant, to help save a Leukemia Patient when i was found to be a match a couple of months back, it went really well, and with new techniques it was a doddle and i would recommend it to anyone. It has also given me a new perspective on life and a great deal to think and write about.
As for Lows, my family has lost three members this year including my cousin who was killed on duty in Afghanistan aged 23. This has obviously deeply saddened us all.
I am looking forward to 2008 as i will be launching full time into music.
