44th Cambridge Folk Festival

Brian McNeill

As the host of the festival session, Brian McNeill gets to play every year. What we said about Brian before and after last year's festival still holds good
Brian McNeill, what is there left to say about Brian McNeill. Last year I mentioned that he had the most credited performances at the festival. This year he notches up another one.
He’s hosting the festival session, he’s an all round great bloke with a musical record that speaks for it’s self. Oh yeah, one year he tried to blag one of our crew t-shirts but we didn’t have any left in his size. In 2007 he finally succeeded in blagging a crew shirt.
With no more guilding the lily, you know you’ll be spending some time at his session, Brian McNeill.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Since hosting the session at last year's festival, Brian McNeill was the first ever recipient of the FATEA Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award recognised Brian's significant contribution to folk music, both through playing and the encouragement that he has offered to musicians yound and old over some 40 odd years.
