44th Cambridge Folk Festival

The Shivers

Cambridge Folk Festival is the hometown gig for this bunch of barfly country rockers. Tipped by NME as the Cambridge band to watch out for, they were the first band played on Radio 209!
The core of the sound sits with early 60s r'n'b rock which is then fleshed out with some slide guitar and the much neglected uke.
We've been hearing good things about this band's live performance. A Number of acts we respect have spoken highly of them, but they're not a combo we've actually seen yet. Based on remendations we'll probably be there, depending on who they clash with.

Post Festival Thoughts

The Shivers played opening night in The Club Tent in what was their swansong gig. They took the opportunity to give a female banjo player her debut gig. It was good honest bluegrass with a bar room twist. A good way to hand in your notice.
