KD Lang

It's a shame that KD Lang has become almost as well known for her androgeus sexuality as she is for both her music and her acting.
It's a shame because it's detracted from what would otherwise be considered an impressive canon of work. It is an impressive body of work by anybody's standards, it suffers from a lack of recognition and in some quarters airplay.
Canadian by birth, Lang has gained a reputation as one of the world's best torch singers. She's also quite happy to include issues in her songs, not just those around gender politics. In fact most of her material has been aimed at a more thoughtful more adult audience. Picking herself up four grammies along the way.
Similarly her acting roles have tended to be challenging roles, rather than simple guest appearances on film. Both, "Salmonberries" and "Eye Of The Beholder" drawing critical praise.
Her most recent album, "Watershed", her first collection of original material for some eight years, saw her returning to the top ten across a whole host of time zones. KD Lang is an exceptional artist. Watch out for an exceptional Cambridge debut.
