Elizabeth Cook
Hyphen junkie, Elizabeth Cook, is a singer-songwriter-country-bluegrass-folkster with her own radio show, "Apron Strings" on the Sirius Satellite radio station Outlaw Country
Dozens of country songs have been written about her life, many from before she was born. Ok, they weren't written about her, but the could have been. The youngest of eleven, both of her parents brought music to her life.
Her father learnt to play stand up bass whilst serving time for moonshining. Mother had a more conventional music background, learning mandolin and singing in the hills of West Virginia.
It was her mother that introduced Elizabeth to the stage at the tender age of four. Her mother wrote her early material including the fantastically named, "Does Daddy Love The Bottle More Than He Loves Me"
Elizabeth has come some way since then with four albums behind her already.
This is her first Cambridge, she's got a lot to live up to there's not many artists described as "This generation's Loretta Lynn" by none other than Nanci Griffith.
