Rachel Unthank & The Winter Set

Having delivered a showcase set last year, that saw Rachel Unthank & The Winter Set, pick up the FATEA Favourite Live Performance award, Rachel Unthanks and band return this year to build upon that success. The band have undergone a line-up change since they last appeared on a Cambridge stage, so it'll be interesting to see if they manage to captitivate the audience in the way they did when they played the intimate Club Tent. Specialising in music with a North East style Rachel Unthank et al, have been delivering their native folk music for a good few years now, captivating a lot of fans along the way. The songs and performances have often been lead from the heart. My fear is that it may be too intimate for the bigger stages. Stages they are deserving, but not necessarily suited for, the ultimate folk paradox
Difficult to judge, all I can say is that any band that wins an award for their set, must be worth listening out for.
