La Vent Du Nord
Quebec bands have normally gone down well at Cambridge and there is no reason why should break up that run. Well actually there might be one. A quick glance at
the band's instrument list shows that this band has a hurdy-gurdy and they're not afraid to use it.
Leaving aside the polarising impact of the hurdy-gurdy, there is much passion and energy about La Vent Du Nord. It wasn't for nothing they landed themselves a Juno in 2004, just two years after the
band was formed. The band recently filmed a tv special alongside other former Cambridge acts, La Bottine Souriante and La Volee d'Castors
La Vent Du Nord should be one to watch, québecois bands have a habit of delivering the good s and taking the audience with them. Just keep and eye and an ear, or two, on
that hurdy-gurdy!
