42nd Cambridge Folk Festival

Waking The Witch

I'm not sure if all of Waking The Witch have played Cambridge in one guise or another have played Cambridge before, certainly some have. I think Rachel Goodwin still holds the record for the biggest sales and signing session for an unbooked act in the Club Tent. Leaving that aside, Waking The Witch are making their festival debut and it should be something to behold.
Waking The Witch are now two albums to the good and making some real waves in the Leeds area where they're based, but the ripples are really starting to be felt in large number of places across the UK.
The formula appears to be reasonably simple. Take four singer/songwriters with great voices and who know their way around a guitar and put them into what used to be known as a supergroup.
It all works so well because the girls give each other enough space to be themselves, working as a unit but with distinct roles and sounds on each of the songs. The result is something that little bit special.
Waking The Witch are playing in the Club Tent, but should hopefully get a decent audience. If talent was an audience, the tent would be bursting at the seams.
