Rodrigo y Gabriela

Rodrigo y Gabriela are a band that I've managed to miss so I didn't exactly know what I was going to find when I went out looking for them. I was expecting to find something with a latin flavour, right on that one. I was expecting to find a duo, based on the band's name, right on that one.
I wasn't expecting to find that they were based in Ireland and that their instrumental album has topped the chart there, not only with self-penned songs, but also with their unique take on covers of "Stairway To Heaven and Metallica's "Orion".
Consisting of Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero, Rodrigo y Gabriela have three albums to their name and will be making their Cambridge debut. Not that they are any stranger to large stages as they've recently been out on the road as guests of David Gray.
I'm always keen to experience something completely fresh so expect a lot of this on the post festival review
