Richard Thompson

One of my favourite hobbies at a Richard Thompson gig, is trying to find the second guitarist, or spot where he keeps his extra pair of hands, because Richard Thompson plays guitar like no other man, dead or alive.
For most mortals, that would be enough, but not for Richard, oh no. He also happens to be a fantastic song writer and a pretty mean singer too. You get the impression that Richard Thompson could make love standing up in a hammock, though granted for that there'd need to be two people on stage.
I am in awe of what this man is capable off, both live and through the recorded medium, though he has been known to have the odd offnight, by which I judge him to still be human.
He's a man that has captured in song the spirit of the MGB GT and the Vincent Black Lightning, though not yet the Black Shadow. He's played lead guitar for Fairport has a guest appearance list as long as both my arms. Oh yeah and fathered rising star Teddy. Will I be there for this one. Spot the fat journo down the front
