Mozaik

There can't be many bands that feature musicians from the US of A, Bulgaria, Holland and Ireland, but one that does happens to be Mozaik. When said band includes Donul Luny, Andy Irvine, Bruce Molsky, Nikola Parov and Rens Van Der Zalm, you know it's going to be something very different indeed.
Andy and Donul had been in a previous multi-cultural, multi-musician band called Mosaic some years before and when the opportunity came around again, it seemed like the right sort of progression to add an eastern bent to the title. Just to add an additional culture to the mix, the idea to do this came whilst some of the musicians were in Australia.
As you can imagine with such a mix of musicians, all with other band commitments, Mozaik don't get out and about all that often. I confess I've yet to see them and there is a gap in the record collection where Mozaik would sit. I'll certainly be putting the first part of that equation right this year.
