Lunasa

Named after the Celtic harvest festival of the god Lugh, Lunasa have often been placed high in lists of bands to see at festivals.
During their eight odd years together the band have put together an impressive string of albums that have been praised as highly as their live appearances.
Inspired by the likes of the Bothy Band, Lunasa have continued to drive Irish folk forward, whilst still leaving it firmly anchored to it's roots.
The band have a wealth of experience having members that have played with the likes of The Waterboys, Sharron Shannon and Donul Lunny to name but a few.
Lunasa have exported their sound pretty much around the world, well the top half at least, playing regularly on tour and at festivals. Along the way they have rightly picked up acclaim for the strength of their performances. Expect your body to compell you to dance or at the very least tap.
POST FESTIVAL VERDICT
Definitely lived up to expectations. This is a band that knows how to deliver a tune. Where there was space people danced, where there wasn't they bobbed up and down. A totally enjoyable experience.
