40th Cambridge Folk Festival

Loudon Wainwright III

What is there left to say about Loudon Wainwright III? About the only thing I can think of is "Are you sure he's not British, well Canadian at the very least."

Loudon seems to spend an awful lot of time playing festivals, Cambridge imparticular. He's a veritable Shakespear around the acoustic guitar. Poetic, tragic, comic, Loudon Wainwright III encapsulates it all.

On stage he has the ability to reel an audience in, wrap them around his little finger and take them off in any direction he chooses.

His between song banter is of the sort that you share with friends around a fireplace with a few beers .

Anyone that can come up with a line describing the British weather as 'it was colder than a witch's tit' is alright by me.
