Ray of Hope

 

There were occasions, though, when my spirits were lifted during the weekend (and not due to any alcohol induced state as that wine was my first and last given the expense!). 

 

No, it was the sight of some promising new talent in the form of Jim Moray that redeemed the festival for me and installed some hope that the organisers were, perhaps, interested in bringing us something new after all.

Winner of both the Horizon Award for best newcomer and the Best Album Award for Sweet England at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2004, Jim Moray is single-handedly turning folk music on its head. Taking traditional English songs he reworks them electronically to create some of the most powerful contemporary recordings in the last thirty years.

 

So what did Jim have to say about it all……..
