The Dixie Hummingbirds

Whilst Cambridge celebrates 40 years, the Dixie Hummingbirds have been touring the world for well over fifty. During that time they have taken their particular gosple sound to millions of people.

Over the years, the lineup has changed but links have always been maintained to the original band. Praise singing of any variety should be a bright source of energy and this is particularly true of the Dixie Hummingbirds.

There may be a lot of young pretenders to the throne. The term gosple is being redefined in a sumilar way to folk. Fusion gosple styles are starting to emerge, but the Dixie Hummingbirds show that there is still a space for the old guys
