The Divine Comedy

The Divine Comedy are one of those bands of whome you know more than you think. Everyone knows that the band did the music for the opening titles of Father Ted, but there is so much more to this combo.
Mainman Neil Hannon has been hailed in many quarters as a songwriting genius, a point that's difficult to argue against, but true genius also involves surrounding yourself with the people that can help turn a song into masterpiece and in the Divine Comedy, Hannon has found the musicians to do just that.
Songs are essentially about three things, the music, the lyrics and getting the balance right. In their fruitful mellowness, The Divine Comedy do just that.
There might be band that rock out more, there might be bands that are more accoustic, there are bands that are more traditional, but this is a band that brings meaning to the phrase, folk song.
