Bert Jansch
As both a solo performer and as part of groundbreaking folkrock band Pentangle, folk-blues guitar master Bert Jansch has managed to achieve iconic status.
The list of artists that have been influenced by Jansch's playing reads like a whose who of guitar players and not just from the folk scene, he devotees include the likes of Neil Young, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Johnny Marr and Bernard Butler.
Bert's catalogue of albums stretches into the twenties, and that's just the ones with his name on. He celebrated turning 60 with an absolutely fantastic concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall back in November last year.
Jansch is one of those artists that it would be almost impossible to do justice to in the space that I've got here, suffice to say this ones going to be a front of tent experience. Snag is there's peobably hundreds of you out there with the same idea.
