Amparanoia

Cambridge has an Iberian flavour this year, with bands from the peninsular featured on all three days. All are bringing music from their own region and Amparanoia bring mestizo.
Mestizo is one of bastard styles of music, traditional sounds such as salsa, rumba and samba are added to with hip-hop and gypsy rhythms. It's a music that's relatively new to the UK, but that's starting to change.
Despite only one visit to the UK before the band's record company have just made two Amparanoia albums available here.
Fronted by the dynamic Amparo Sanchez Amparanoia will almost certainly bring a fiesta atmosphere to the stage, but they are deeper than that. The Spanish speakers in the crowd may well discover that the art of the political song is not dead.
Amparanoia are more than just about rhythm and having a good time they have deeper levels as well. I'm not a Spanish speaker. I won't be able to hit on all of this, but I am expecting to have a really good time.
