Shooglenifty

Shooglenifty are the band for which the term acid croft was coined. They've recently released a new album, "The Arms Dealer's Daughter" and are hotly tipped as the band most likely to get people up and dancing.

Folk Dance fusion has been around for a while, but this act were right at the forefront. They upset a few traditionalists when they last played back in '99 and will probably do so again. If anything this is a band that proves folk is a living and vibrant tradition.

I know a number of teenagers that have been brought into folk by the likes of Shooglenifty and who go on and try other parts of the great roots tradition.
