Saturday Session

One of the most popular parts of the Festival is the Saturday Session. As he has for the last few years, legendary Scottish folkster, Brian McNeill played host.

The Session allows the public to see combinations of musicians that might never have played together before, or ever again. It's for this reason the musicians love The Session as much if not more than the public. There's always a buzz backstage. On occasions songs are agreed literally as the artists are walking on stage.

Some people stay firmly rooted to the Radio Two Stage for the whole of the Session, whilst others prefer to drop in and out depending on what's happening elsewhere. You never know what to expect and there's always the chance of an appearance by someone not listed in the Festival programme.

This year saw some wonderful performances by artists young and old.

Needless to say to took a few pictures
