Julian
CopeThe last thing I bought of Julian Cope's was his excellent book "The Modern Antiquarian". Any fan of my favourite stone circle can't be bad.
It's a good book well put together and off the beaten track, which sort of sums Julian up.
Obviously I've bought some of the guys music over the years. The Teardrop Explodes defined it's time as cohesively as another Scouse band defined theirs back in the sixties.
Julian is a writer and performer, he's prone to his eccentricty and the odd falling out with band members, but his hearts in the right place and he seems to love what he's doing.
I think he's the act that will polarise the site this year, in the same way as Nick Cave a few years back. I'm intrigued enough to find out what's what. There's a new album on it way and I'm interested where this troubador will wander next.
