Back Of The Moon

Back of the Moon are a young band making their festival debut.

The line up features pipes and fiddle with a solid guitar-piano rhythm section.

Gillian Frame (fiddle, vocals) is one of Scotland’s finest young musicians having scooped the Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year 2001 award. Beside her are Simon McKerrell (pipes, vocals) and the Napier brothers, Hamish (piano, vocals) and Findlay (guitar, vocals).

In 2000 the 3 founder members of Back of the Moon (Gillian, Simon and Hamish, under the imaginary title “Frame, McKerrell and Napier”!!) were finalists in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards.

Their debut album Gillian Frame and Back of the Moon was released back in July 2001 to great acclaim – winning “Album of the Week” on BBC Radio Scotland’s “Traveling Folk” programme.
