Uiscedwr are a two thirds Welsh one third Irish trio that won the 2002 young folk award. Off the back of that Uiscedwr have got themselves one heck of a busy Summer, followed by a spell in Kate Rusby's studio to record the debut album.
Uiscedwr(The name means water in Welsh and then Irish) have the priviledge of kicking off this year's Festival. The various members, Anna(fiddle), Cormac(bodhran) and Ben(guitar) will also be taking part in the Session and doing workshops up and the new venue and chill out area The Hub.
Expect this to be a show of boundless energy and no mean talent. There is so much potential in this band so here's hoping the album fulfills thereputation built on the strength of their live shows.
