For the first time ever, Stage 2 had it's own sponsorship, via Radio 2. Part of the reason for this is that Radio 2 has changed it's folk policy and it now reflects more contemporary folk, as featured by the likes of Mike Harding on his show. This brings it neatly in line with the Cambridge philosophy. Traditionally Stage 2 has been where the more dance orientated acts have had their outing. Another tradition for Stage 2 is the Festival Session, which sees some of the main acts in different guises. Stage 2 is also the venue for the Juggling Workshops, for the truely sad , and the Children's Concert on the Sunday.
