Horace X

Horace X were a band that I didn't expect to enjoy last year and who totally won me over. They looked a little too art school as if they might be trying to hide behind an image, it shows how wrong you can be.

They're a local outfit, playing a hometown gig and whose fusion of dance and folk stretches a whole lot further than just sticking some drum and bass to the dancier end of folk.

There is energy and creativity a plenty here and the adaged about not judging by a cover never rang truer. Last year they kicked the whole thing off on the Thursday night and really set things up for the whole weekend.

You may not like their look, you might think you won't like their sound, give 'em a go, you might be pleasently surprised. I know I was.
